Yup, it's getting quite bad, to a state where the site is getting unusable. Flagging does not work apparently.
I'm also worried about the content that could be seen as CP. At least according to my country's definition. I no longer use Loforo on my mobile in case someone watches me and things like that come up... :/
Matter is getting quite urgent. Everyday "calibration" of stream is starting to be not enough.
@tokyomews I agree, it's really bad. It's beyond comprehension how that can be allowed. I e-mailed loforo about it too but no response for a month, might be time to abandon ship if nothing changes.
Trust me, we’re not a fan of that either but because people barely even use the nsfw, let alone a ‘dong’ tag, it is hard to monitor the massive amount of posts that come in around the clock to filter those out.
We did cleanup/delete a bunch of sites that had that kind of content especially ones that were questionable legally in the last few days but still trying to find a good solution.
Also, our AI-powered NSFW filter can only tell us if an image seems to be NSFW but it can’t tell what specific type of NSFW content is in it.
@blog thanks for hopping on here. I can appreciate this is a hard work for small team, and it's only gonna get worse with growth. Maybe set up some kind of a moderator team or smth?
@theturbobear That's what I've been considering lately. Some kind of user-powered moderation where long-term users can mark NSFW/hide content from the everyone-feed.
@blog How about to clarify the rules to match that of nudist colonies. Nudity is OK, erections and sexual acts are not (unless they are painted in oil or hewn into marble). That should cover most cases.
@blog thanks for caring. I used to tag a lot but started to only block the accounts after it felt like tagging didn't help. But if you guys take a look, I will tag again! Make loforo usable in public again 💪
@blog I don't wanna tell you how to do your thing, but perhaps the time has come for more action less consideration? Perhaps instead of trying to identify "trusted" long-term users, better to open up some kind of recruitment for people to apply to be moderators, and you can filter those applicants?
Also maybe some kind of internal tool to actually report the pedo stuff to authorities?
@blog As @theturbobear wrote. If you have the tools with which to fight what's happening on loforo, but lack the manpower - there's a crew of people on loforo who want to be here because they've found a place that manages to replace the void left by soup.io. You won't find a more determined team of people. Maybe not as much as you need to (because you don't need anything), but try to take their word for it.
@cosmo - Amen!
Thanks for the feedback all.
We'll start work on a moderator panel soon. We have a basic plan at the moment but it'll take some time to build it out.
Happy to hear that
What pleases me (probably not only me) as a Loforo user is that there is contact between user and admin. The silence that prevailed was worrying. And it is obvious that time is needed to implement solutions.
Thank you also for your feedback. Have a good day.:)
